- 29th October 2004

Rathfarnham has now becoming one of the best music venues in Dublin. Only a few months ago, some of Europe's most famous bands performed at Marley Park. This winter, the spot light is on Rathfarnham again. In the following weeks, we are going to be entertained by rock bands, traditional artists and dramatic performances.

There are three major concerts lined up for 'the Venue' in Rathfarnham Village in the coming weeks. George Murphy will be appearing on Halloween Eve, 30th October. He was one of the finalists on RTE's leading programme, You're a Star'. Some have described Murphy as the next Luke Kelly, we'll have to wait and see!

Picture House will be one of the favorite acts this season. Their unique, lively and refreshing sound appeals to a wide audience. Make sure you make their gig on 27 November. Rattle and Hum will be performing just before Christmas on 18 December.

At the moment, the Rathfarnham Concert Band are preparing for their annual concert at the National Concert Hall on Tuesday, 30 November. They will be supported by the choir from Loreto High School and will be performing hits such as 'Riverdance', 'South Pacific' and 'Oklahoma'. The Society are also preparing for a major concert in the Albert Hall in the New Year.

If music isn't your cup of tea, then you might enjoy what the Rathfarnham Theatre Group has to offer. At the moment, the Group are preparing for their next production, Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons'. The play will be staged at Tallaght Theatre for one week, commencing 29 November.
