Familiar Faces Relected to Rathfarnham Local Area

Your local political representatives in Rathfarnham are Emma Coburn (Fine Gael), Cait Keane (Fine Gael), John Lahart (Fianna Fail) and Paddy Cosgrave (Labour).

Coburn is the only new face to be elected - the others being incumbent candidates.

17, 324 out of 32, 136 eligible voters cast their vote in Rathfarnham on Friday 5th June in the local elections.

Former Progressive Democrat Cait Keane topped the poll with 3639 first preference votes. Lahart (FF) polled in close 2nd with 3605 first preference votes. Cosgrave (L) and Coburn (FG) collected 3431 and 3022 votes respectively.

Lahart's 2nd position is quite interesting when you consider how much the Fianna Fail brand has been damaged in the last number of months. Over the last year, Fianna Fail have introduced employment levies and took medical cards away from thousands of old age pensioners.

Challenging Times

Rathfarnham's representatives have major challenges to face in the next five years in terms of employment, social housing and education. Their progress and voting records will be published on Rathfarnham.com - so keep tuned.
